Tidings of Comfort and Joy.
Luke 2:10
By this time in Israel’s history, shepherds had become outcasts in society merely because it was a lowly form of work to the society elites. Why did God choose to deliver His good tidings of great joy to the shepherds? Oh, by honoring them …which means he came to them first, God revealed that the exceedingly great message of His grace was for all humanity, including the lowest shepherds and the poorest outcasts of the inn.
“God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are”
Up is down and down is up.
The Star of Bethlehem is your light inside, the light that forgives others, forgives oneself, and stops with the constant judging. Simple words, but difficult to execute in a world that so wants each of us to separate ourselves from each other.
Time to open the inward window and the inward light, to let the weary world loosen its grip us and welcome the divine. As we sit with our current situations, grief for many, lonliness and hopelessness, our comfort and joy can only be restored in that which is unseen.
“Do not be afraid for I bring you good news of great joy that will be for ALL people, promising the arrival of a savior, which is christ the king. ”
Fear is our imagination . Good news is that no matter your status, you are seen by God. Joy is for all people and can only be found in things unseen.
